Themes

Each student will have 3 minutes to express their views on 7 different AI-related themes
Below the themes are Guiding Questions.
You do not have to answer them, they are there to spark your thoughts.

Kids AI Summit - AI and Education

AI & Education

AI literacy is becoming a must-have skill. How is learning itself is changing as AI becomes a part of the classroom?

Guided Questions:
1) Will AI replace teachers? Why?
2) Do you think we should "strictly forbid students from using AI for homework" on campus, or "teach students how to use AI as an assistive tool"? Why?
3) In a world where AI can write the correct answer much faster and immediately, what impact will the missing thought process have on students?

Kids AI Summit - AI and Children’s Wellbeing

AI & Children’s Wellbeing

AI is becoming a growing presence in children's lives, influencing both their physical and mental development. While it offers benefits like personalized learning and creative stimulation, it also poses risks such as data privacy concerns, technology over-reliance, and reduced real-world social skills.

Guided Questions:

1) How does AI intervention affect children's learning patterns, attention spans, and critical thinking skills?

2) How can parents and educators strike a balance between leveraging AI for learning and protecting children from over-reliance on technology?

3) What are the differences between chatting with AI and chatting with real friends?

AI & Human Autonomy

AI is changing how we make choices. While it helps us do things faster, it also influences our decisions through recommendations and automation. The big question is: are we still in control, or is the technology deciding for us? To protect our autonomy, we must ensure humans always have the final say and understand how AI works, so we don't lose our freedom to choose.

Guided Questions:

1) How does the speed and convenience provided by AI impact the thoughtfulness of our independent decision-making?
2) What is the true definition of "human autonomy" in an era where artificial intelligence is widespread?
3) Are we still in control or is technology already deciding things for us?

AI & Ethical Agency

As we use AI more, the responsibility behind its decisions becomes a big issue. Striking a balance between AI's judgment, human ethics and judgement is becoming more and more important.

Guided Questions:

1) When an AI system (like a self-driving car) makes a wrong decision and causes harm, who do you think should bear the primary responsibility? The programmer, the owner, or the AI itself? Why?
2) For you, what is the "moral bottom line" that humans possess but AI can never have?
3) Imagine if a judge used AI to assist in sentencing. Do you think this would make verdicts fairer, or would it cause problems due to AI's lack of a "human touch"?

AI & Human Creativity

AI can generate art and music instantly, which is great for productivity. However, productivity is not the main focus when it comes to making 'art'. And many voices are saying that generative art is harming human-made art. But regardless of the way you make the art, how we can protect human imagination and critical thinking in the process.

Kids AI Summit - AI and Diversity, Equality and Accessibility

AI & Everyone

AI is no longer a niche technology—it affects people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. This theme explores how AI systems touch daily life, from personalized recommendations to public services, and emphasizes the importance of designing technology that works for everyone, leaving no one behind.

Kids AI Summit - AI and Future Career

AI & Future Careers

AI is a reality that brings both threats to old structures and job markets, but also new jobs, and new possibilities. Many experts foresee that AI will have a huge impact on the future job market—it already has changed so many things. Our question to you is, how do you view the future job market, and what role do you think you will play?

Guided Questions:

1) In the face of AI that can quickly produce standard answers and content, what unique value do human "imagination" and the "process of making mistakes" still hold?
2) In a world where AI can paint a world-class painting or write a beautiful song in seconds, do you think the definition of "art" has changed?
3) Is AI a competitor or a helper for creators?

Guided Questions:

1) Will AI take away opportunities, or will it create new and better ones for regular people?
2) Is AI really helpful to everyone?
3) If AI eventually does all the necessary work, is humanity actually psychologically prepared for a society of pure leisure and endless dreaming?

Guided Questions:

1) Facing the rapid development of AI, do you feel afraid, worried, or full of anticipation about your future job search? Why?
2) What jobs do you think. will never be replaced by AI?
3) Which human skills, like communication and empathy, should students build now to succeed in a future where AI is part of work?
